Recife is the capital of the state of Pernambouco located in northeastern Brazil. It is the oldest city in the country. It is nicknamed the “Brazilian Venice” in reference to its many bridges connecting several islands. It is known for its carnival and its surrounding beaches, but not only, with more than a hundred wrecks washed up off its coast, Recife is one of the top places for diving.
