Cape Verde or Cabo Verde in Portuguese, this archipelago of volcanic origin is located north of the Senegalese coast. An essential step for sailors before starting to cross the Atlantic. The Globe40’s first stopover will be on one of the ten islands: Sao Vicente nicknamed “little Brazil” and Mindelo, birthplace of the famous singer Césaria Évoria. It is the second most populated island of the archipelago and lives mainly from fishing and tourism.
